![]() You still have paths you can choose but I am not sure yet how varied the gameplay will be between the various paths you can choose between multiple game plays. ES2 has a very deep progression but because its all hand coded it may well be limited in how many variances you have, if for example you replay the same faction in multiple games 2 or 3 times. However obviously because its random Stellaris will never play the same way twice although each game is quite similar as you have the same mechanics everytime just with slight variances. But its not that interesting - certainly not as deep as Crusader Kings. You dont get that too much with Stellaris which relies on you making your own story by how you play and what decisions you make and how the game randomises out. Its true its slow at the start but it gradually expands in a neat way but never overloads you. So its a neat idea that unlike most other 4x game develops gradually as you play so you have a storylike progression here. Each faction has its own special quests as well. But ES2 is specifically designed to take you on a journey, to get a sense of progression - you progress as your explore your constellation, then later the whole galaxy opens out for you, you can get a foothold on other constaellations though by using your probes which is very cool - so you can have two separate empires for a while.īut you also progress through the research as more sections open up as you develop early sections.Īnd you progress gradually through exploring anomaloes - some cant be discovered straight way and quests create new ones as you go.Īnd then there are the quests themselves that aso take you through the lore and you get to choose your own path through them - so for example in the United Empire you can choose a military path or science or stay on the construction one. sooĬompared to Stellaris that is true where Stellaris throws everything at you straight away but doesnt really go anywhere elase. G0ku の投稿を引用:thank you very much for ur comments guys (expect one i d i o t) =) i guess i am going to buy.the only problem is es2 seems like shallow and not much content at start. ![]() You can live and breathe ESs lore, but Stellaris is very dead and souless - its just all randomly generated and means nothing.ĮS2 isnt finished yet and the AI is still suspect, and no-one knows how the game will be like when released in a few days, Stellaris is finished and working pretty much as it should. IMO Stellaris is the worst Paradox game I have ever played and the worst setting for their pure expansion mechanics which are far better suited to historical games where at least you have an underlying beleiveability to the expansion.įinally ES2 is a whole crafted galaxy where you learn about the 'Endless' and appreciate 'Dust' and fear the 'Cravers'. ES2 is about the journey more than winning the game.ĮS2 is on another level compared to the very dated Stellaris which plays exactly how you would expect - like EU4 set in space. In Stellaris you are simply fighting enemies and looking for the next mining station location or way to expand, exploration means nothing really there is very little point to the game other than to become the largest empire. In ES2 you rare doing quests that explain the lore, you are finding out new gameplay and the game is gradually evolving in a deep emotional way. Stellaris is pretty horrid to look at and you will be turning the music off pretty quickly. Sega is working with this studio now, and it seems they shoved dlc into the total war series, and i'm fightened the same might happen with Endless Space, but I hope if the studio releases dlc it will be of the same quality and pacing of Endless Legends.ĮS2 is sedate and beautiful to play you can play and appreciate its intricacies, Stellaris is just hectic - you never have a minute to think.ĮS2 sometimes is too slow for things to happen, you will be hitting the next turn several times in succession espeically at the start, Stellaris never gives you a free moment from the off.ĮS2 looks really cool and stylish, and the music is wonderful. The Ai has yet to grasp this and has been totally raped thus far but we'll see. It also has an AI that's better at spaming ships, but i don't entirely like that game since the combat it broken (corvettes) where as Endless Space has ships as chest peices that are positioned and not used. Stellaris is better at allowing you to make your own story entirely, but Paradox games are horribel if you don't want to shell out 100 or so dollars in dlc less you feel like you're not getting the most out of the game since the mods become dependent on dlc, and the dlc has cut content that is cut out of "free" updates. ![]() ![]() I think that Endless space has a better focus on populations and having different ethnics, and has better art which allows for more intresting stories as you conquer stuff and have little auxilaries and stuff. ![]()
